URGENT NOTICE TAX RATE INCREASE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2025

On November 5, 2024, voters approved a 1% increase in the Manatee County Tourist Development Tax, raising the rate to 6%.
The levy and imposition of the tax shall be effective the first day of the second month following approval of Ordinance No. 24-49 by referendum.

The effective date of the new rate is January 1, 2025.

Attention all Airbnb, HomeAway and VRBO Customers

Please note, Manatee County is not contracted with Airbnb, HomeAway, VRBO or any other third party vendor. Therefore, it is your responsibility to collect and remit the 6% Tourist Tax to the Manatee County Tax Collector.

The Total Tourist Tax rate is 13%. 6% Tourist Development Tax is remitted to the Manatee County Tax Collector and 7% Sales and
Use Tax is remitted to the Florida Department of Revenue.
