Anna Barr Sosa is the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter  (Published 07-13-2022)

Bradenton – Anna Barr Sosa is the Manatee County Tax Collector's Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter 2022. Anna joined the tax collector's team in 2014. She is a support analyst in the Quality Assurance Department and also serves as the team leader. She has contributed to many high-profile projects, including the implementation and management of multiple programs and technology that have helped advance both customer and internal interactions. Anna is a recipient of the Outstanding Quality Award (2015) and Rookie of the Year Award (2015) and holds her Certified Florida Collector's Assistant (CFCA) designation.

"In football terms, Anna has been like our number one wide receiver," said Ken Burton Jr., tax collector. "An idea is thrown at her and she has continually caught it, ran with it, and made epic offensive plays to land us touchdowns with the technology she has implemented. Despite the obstacles that come along with starting projects from scratch, Anna has kept her head in the game. She is a great teammate and perfectly embodies our vision statement of innovating better ways to serve."

"Anna is very deserving of this designation, and I am so excited for her," said Lori McInerney, Anna's nominator and co-worker in the Quality Assurance Department. "I am always in awe of her level of knowledge and ability to figure anything out. She can start from scratch with an idea and turn it into a well-oiled machine. As our team leader she is a great mentor and role model, and we are thankful for everything she has implemented to make our lives easier on a daily basis."

Anna's husband, Brandon Sosa, and 3-year-old daughter, Evelyn, joined the office in congratulating Anna during her live-streamed award presentation, where Ken Burton Jr. highlighted her involvement on major innovations, such as the office's appointment system, employee scheduling platform, ticketing systems, and her oversight of Monday.com, a program that has paved the way for streamlined interactions and tracking throughout the entire organization.

Department Director Tony Conboy, of Customer Solutions and Associate Development, said, "We are very fortunate to have Anna on our team. She brings her intelligence, insight, and thoroughness to each project she oversees, which are many of the office's most monumental projects and programs."

Anna represents Office core values of customer focus, innovation, future focus, integrity and respect, teamwork, excellence and accountability, and community and social responsibility. She receives an Employee of the Quarter trophy, a merit certificate, a reserved parking space, a themed casual day, and bonus vacation day.
